Understanding Stock Movements
Every time stock changes in your system, a stock movement is recorded. Movements provide a complete audit trail of how inventory has changed over time.
Types of Stock Movement
- Goods In - stock received into a zone
- Transfer - stock moved from one zone to another
- Adjustment - manual correction to a stock level
- Order - stock allocated or shipped for a customer order
- Return - stock returned by a customer and reinstated
Viewing Stock Movements
- Go to Inventory in the sidebar.
- Click on a Product to open its detail page.
- Scroll to the Stock Movements section.
Each movement shows the date, type, quantity change, zone, and the user who performed the action.
Filtering Movements
Use the filters on the movements list to narrow by movement type, date range, or zone. This is useful when investigating discrepancies or reviewing activity for a specific period.
Common Use Cases
- Audit trail - trace exactly when and why stock changed
- Discrepancy investigation - compare expected vs actual levels by reviewing recent movements
